It might seem like the only thing that’s interesting about the NSW School Bands Festival is the catering – but in fact four of the MEP’s ensembles are competing, and that’s pretty interesting too. Last year our bands received two silvers, a bronze and a gold; this year, under the baton of new director Jay Byrnes, promises to be at least as successful.
All of the concert and stage bands are performing on Sunday July 24. This is the weekend at the end of the first week of Term 3, which is why it is compulsory for all Band Students to attend the Monday Workshops to aid our preparation.
This event will give our students the opportunity to perform at a wonderful venue, and will add to their performance experience.
The venue for our event is Sir John Clancy Auditorium, University of NSW. Parking is available on High Street, Kensington or on campus via Gate 11, from Botany Road, Randwick. To download a map of the venue go the Festival Site and look under Musical Director/Parent Info.
Here are the performance times for all bands;
We’ll update this post as info comes to hand. Don’t forget to check our catering page to see if there is anything you can do to help our with our major fundraiser.
